◼️今日の東京は雨である。この三日、なぜかつづけて懐かしいお客様からのご連絡、ご来店をいただいた。店に一歩入った途端「そうそう、この匂い！ 」とか「元気かい？ 」「あの時は……」なんていうお話しだ。うれしいな。自転車好きなんていうのは店でもお客さんでも、いつの間にか仲間な意識になってしまうようなニッチな世界である。しばらくお話ししていなかったとしても「変わらず 」なところが嬉しいのである。そして「あん時はさー 」とか「ここんところのパーツはね」なんていう会話に、タイム・ラグなどないかの如くに花が咲く。 実に全く好い感じである。季節はめぐれど変わらぬ何かがそこにある。それが嬉しい きょうの眺め .

◾️It’s raining in Tokyo today. For some reason, over the past three days, we’ve had a string of old customers contact us and come to the shop. As soon as they step inside the shop, they start talking about stuff like, “Yes, that smell!” or, “How are you doing?” or, “That time…” It makes me happy. Bicycle enthusiasts are a niche world where before you know it, you’re feeling like friends, whether you’re in the shop or with the customers. It’s nice that they’re “still the same” even if you haven’t spoken to them for a while. And as if there was no time lag, conversations like, “Back then…” or “The parts we’ve been using lately…” blossom. It’s really a nice feeling. There’s something there that doesn’t change, even as the seasons change. And that’s what makes me happy……………….. Such is my view today
